4 Simple Steps To Set Up A Wireless Printer
If you have recently acquired a printer equipped with wireless technology then you are a lucky man. These advanced printers can do a lot of printing jobs quicker, better and from pretty much anywhere as well. Actually, isn't amazing to be able to hit the "print" button here and to get your printing job somewhere else? Imagine how much your workflow will improve thanks to this.
If you are impatient and you can't wait to print something with your new gadget then continue to read this article. You will find out a couple of simple steps which will guide you through the wireless printer setup process.
1. Unpack your printer and install drivers. If you have already done this then skip this step. Make sure that you take out your printer from its box, you connect it to your computer and you install the printer drivers you received from the manufacturer. Usually, at this point, the printer will do its own thing and you should patiently wait until it finishes.
2. Note down the name and password of your wireless network. If you already have a wireless router installed then you are golden. All that you need is to know the name and the password of the wireless network. Your printer will connect to this network and later on you will be able to print automatically.
3. Connect your printer to the wireless network. Now this is perhaps the trickiest job but don’t panic. If you have a very modern printer then you should let it do its own ritual. Usually, advanced printers can scan and detect wireless networks automatically. All that you have to do is to provide the name and password mentioned above.
On the other hand, if your printer has not scanned and found the wireless network yet then you should use the installation CD you have received. During this installation process, you will need to provide the name and the password of your wireless network. Also, you can plug your printer directly into the router in order to make the connection using an Ethernet cable.
4. Test your printer. Luckily, one of the solutions described above was successful for you and now you have added your printer to your current wireless network. Now all that you have to do is to make this printer the default one and print something. Whether it is a test page or an actual printing job, give it a try confidently. If it works then congratulations! Your printer is connected and now you can use at your own convenience. If your printer doesn’t print then make sure that you have followed all the steps correctly and you try again.
