My Printer is Offline, What Do I Do?

Sometimes technology just wants to test our patience. You go to print an uber-important document only to find the printer claiming it’s ‘Offline’. We’ve all been there, unfortunately. There are many reasons your printer can go offline. Below are some tips that may help you and your Edmonton business solve the problem!

Step 1: Turn it off and on

This is the first step to almost all technology-related problems so make sure you give it a go. Sometimes a quick reboot will fix the problem!

Step 2: Check on the computer

If rebooting doesn’t work, log onto your computer and locate the “Devices and Printers” section. Once you’re there see if your printer has selected “Use Printer Offline”. If it has, turn that command off and your printer should come back online.

Step 3: Find instructions

If that doesn’t work you can find your printers manual. If you’ve lost the paper manual, you can always find one online by searching your manufacturer. This will usually give a detailed step by step for your specific printer.

Step 4: Call a professional

If you are still having an issue getting your pesky printer online it might be time to speak to a professional. This can be tedious but the problem will usually be solved. You can either have someone come check the printer out or call the number of your manufacturer. Someone will be glad to help you!
