Safety & Etiquette in the time of the Coronavirus

Consideration for others in your Calgary office is always important, but even more so in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s no longer just a matter of ensuring your behaviour at the printer doesn’t frustrate anyone.

Now being inconsiderate could mean passing on the virus. As the health professionals have reported, many people are asymptomatic and may unwittingly pass the illness on unintentionally.

Be sure to strictly follow your company guidelines to ensure everyone remains healthy in your workplace. Printerworks West’s technicians will be extra vigilant during their service visits. We have provided them with clear guidelines regarding the complete cleaning of the devices before and after their work on your equipment. We recommend you wipe all printer services after using.

Especially at this time when we are facing many challenges, manners are important.

Don’t walk away when Ink/Toner/Paper runs out

If you’ve just used a printer that runs out of ink, toner or paper after your last print job has run, please restock the printer. If you don’t know how to replace the ink and/or toner, ask someone for help.

Paper jammed? Fix it

Pretending you haven’t noticed a paper jam is an office non-no. Frustrating and often time-consuming to clear, think about your work colleagues. They could have a deadline-driven printing job to get done and you've left them with a paper jam to deal with? Not cool.

Pick up your print jobs in a timely manner

It’s frustrating to get back to your office only to realize someone else’s print job is mixed in with yours. You’re left sorting through both sets of prints and having to run back to the printer. Again, it’s common courtesy — pick up your printing job when it’s ready.

Remember, we are all in this together. Treat others as you would want to be treated.
