Why You Should Purchase Ink Cartridges Online
I'm not sure how many times I've been asked to help problem solve some printer, MFP or similar technology. I'm often the 2nd or 3rd person at the site. Others have tried to resolve, and failed. When I arrive I go back to the basics:
1.Is it plugged in
2.Is it turned on
3.Does it have the latest firmware
4.Is it using the latest drivers / patches
Countless times the answer to #3 & #4 is "nope". I fully appreciate that firmware is not the answer to everything. I will say that it fixes lots of problems and most importantly, if you have to do it in order to escalate anything with any manufacturer so you should do it anyways. BUT only do it if you are having issues, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I'm still shocked that those in IT don't check this on a regular basis. I know your different, but I'm sure you know someone who this resembles ;-).
So my tip: When you run into a problem. Before you call anyone, check and do steps 1-4. I, and many others, thank you.
