Have you ever had printer ink get on your skin when removing old ink cartridges at your Calgary business? It’s not the most fun thing in the world but it shouldn’t be too hard to remove. Luckily, many of the items listed below can be found in your house to help you remove those pesky stains.

Soap and water

Before all else, it’s probably smart to try the good old method of soap and water. If the stains are still fresh and not too stubborn the ink should be able to rub off pretty easily.

Rubbing alcohol

It may not smell the best, but rubbing alcohol is a superb method for getting rid of ink stains. Try using a cotton ball and gently rub away at the area until the stain is gone. Make sure to moisturize your hands afterward as rubbing alcohol can be extremely drying for the skin.

Oils

If you don’t own rubbing alcohol, try using cooking oil or essential oil. Tea tree oil is usually best for removing the stains. Again, the smell can be quite pungent but it’s completely safe to breathe in. Make sure not to get any on your clothing as oils can leave nasty marks on fabric.

Bleach

This is a last-ditch effort so make sure you’ve tried everything else. And don’t wear clothes that you worry might get stained! If you decide to use bleach make sure it’s diluted with a good amount of water before applying to your skin. You should be using a cotton swab or cotton ball to rub gently at the stains until they’re gone. Wash your hands afterward to get the residue off.
